Collin is the proud owner of the renowned Jett Racing team that currently comprises of 5 race cars, 2 of which have broken national records. Along with wife Katie, Collin oversees every aspect of the team details and operations, creating a meticulous and highly refined operation that prides itself on fairness and quality. Jett Racing was named after Collin & Katie’s eldest son Jett and the very first vehicle to display the Jett Racing logo down the quarter mile was the little Datsun ute that previously belonged to Collin’s father as a work “runaround”. In his memory, the ute was developed into a race car after father John requested that Collin “get off the streets and race safely”. Collin drove the ute to many successful victories and then handed the wheel to Crew Chief, Robert Novak who also tasted great success in the car, taking out the ANDRA series of Super Compact at 2013’s Winternationals. At this stage, the stunning Mitsubishi Eclipse was unveiled for Jett Racing and it soon established itself as a heavy hitter in4 cylinder stakes. Collin knew that there was much to come with this car and so he & the team set about modifying and tweaking the engine with the hope of smashing national and hopefully world records. This was achieved recently with a record breaking 6.72 @ 209mph pass at the 2014 APSA Pro Street Shootout, making the Eclipse the fastest 4 cylinder in Australia and the world’s quickest 4 cylinder on 10.5 inch tyres. Collin has also now achieved the WORLD’s FASTEST 4CYL
with his Eclipse running 6.57 @ 223mph
pass at the Brisbane Jamboree on the 30th August 2014.
Collin’s passion for cars and racing has dominated his entire adult life and his dream of owning one of Australia’s most impressive teams of 4 and 6 cylinder vehicles has very much become a reality: Jett Racing is a well loved and respected team that embraces family values and excellence. Collin will continue to lead the team into the future with undeterred focus and precision and he hopes that the sport of drag racing stays strong and true to form in Australia.
Jett is the eldest son of Collin & Katie and the namesake of the team. Jett has inherited a genuine passion for excellence and commitment to teamwork and is keen to follow in the racing footsteps of his dad. His junior dragster has participated in major race meets at Willowbank raceway and although he has not yet claimed a trophy, Jett and his car have been consistent performers. As he turned 11 in 2012, Jett was able to move to Junior Dragster Category B of racing, allowing him run mid-high 8 second passes with a bigger engine and the same determination shown by his father!
